A new chapter for SPI: built around our customerstheir challenges, and what comes next

By on

For more than 30 years, SPI Developments has been trusted to solve some of the most complex fluid and adhesive application challenges in manufacturing. That hasn’t changed.

What has changed is how clearly we communicate that value — and how effectively we help our customers access it.

Today, we’re proud to introduce our new website and refreshed brand. This isn’t just a redesign. It’s a deliberate step forward in how we support our customers as an innovation partner, not just a provider.

“At SPI, we’ve always believed that the best solutions come from truly understanding our customers’ challenges. Our new website and brand are designed to make those conversations easier, helping manufacturers explore what’s possible and access the expertise they need to solve complex production problems.”

Danielle Roxborough, Managing Director, SPI Developments

Why we’ve evolved

Over the years, we’ve built deep expertise in high-speed, precision application systems — but we recognised something important. Too often, that expertise was hidden.

Our previous brand and website didn’t fully reflect the breadth of solutions we deliver, the bespoke nature of many of our systems, or the role we play in helping global manufacturers solve complex production challenges.

In short, it didn’t make it easy enough for our customers to see what’s possible.

We knew we needed to change that — not for the sake of marketing, but to better serve the market.

From supplier to innovation partner

Many companies in our space operate as transactional suppliers. You know what you need, you buy it, and that’s the end of the relationship. But that’s not how we work. In fact, that way of working is against our philosophy.

Our customers come to us with challenges:

  • A bottleneck slowing production
  • An application process that needs more precision
  • A requirement to scale without compromising quality
  • A new product or format that existing systems can’t handle

And often, the right solution doesn’t exist off the shelf. That’s where SPI, and our subsidiary A1, come in.

We design and deliver systems that combine precision and high-speed performance — two capabilities that are rarely achieved together — and we do it in a way that’s tailored to our customers’ exact environments.

Whether that’s a ready-made system or a fully bespoke solution, our role is the same; to help manufacturers move forward with confidence.

A website built around how our customers actually buy

The new SPI website has been completely rethought with one goal; to make it easier for prospects and customers to find the right solution, faster.

We’ve worked with our marketing team to create clearer pathways to our solutions

Users can now explore our full system range – from glue application to fluid dosing and mixing – in a way that reflects real production needs.

We’ve made our bespoke capabilities a bit more obvious

If a user’s requirement isn’t standard, the site makes it clear that we can design around your process – and even tailor new solutions from scratch, concepting ideas and creating detailed CAD designs, 3D models and prototypes for customers.

A more open, consultative experience

Part of our ethos is to be an open door, so we’ve introduced simple ways to speak to our team, ask questions, and explore ideas — without the pressure of a formal enquiry. Because innovation often starts with a quick conversation.

Making our full capability clear

One of the biggest changes is how we present the breadth of what we do.

SPI isn’t a single-product business — and never has been.

We support manufacturers with:

  • Glue and adhesive application systems
  • Fluid application systems
  • Fluid mixing and dosing technologies
  • Slitting and conversion systems
  • Specialist applications such as flavour and fluid delivery

All designed to deliver accuracy, control, traceability, and consistency at speed.

The new site brings this wide range of capabilities together in a way that’s easier to understand.

Expanding into new industries — with purpose

While we’re proud of our heritage, we’re equally focused on where we can add value next.

Our technology has clear applications beyond our traditional sectors — particularly in FMCG manufacturinghome care, and sustainable packaging formats.

One area we’re especially excited about is paper straw manufacturing.

With increasing demand for sustainable alternatives to plastic straws, manufacturers need:

  • Consistent adhesive application
  • High-speed output
  • Reliable product quality at scale

This is exactly where our expertise applies — and where we can help businesses innovate with confidence.

More broadly, we’re continuing to explore adjacent markets where precision fluid and adhesive application can unlock new efficiencies and opportunities for our customers. I’m a fan of how Dyson have taken their underlying technological capabilities and applied that to broader markets where air technology can serve other use cases, and my aim is to do the same with SPI – ensuring that we as an organisation serve a variety of uses cases where fluid and adhesive application can add value.

What our evolution means for our customers

This evolution is about making SPI more accessible, more relevant, and more valuable to the people we work with.

Most importantly, articulating our partner mindset focused on long-term performance and innovative support in solving complex production challenges.

At SPI, we’ve always believed that the best engineering solutions come from understanding the problem properly. This rebrand and new website are a reflection of that belief. They’re designed to help us understand our customers better — and to help everyone see more clearly how we can support what they’re building next.

If you have a fluid or adhesive challenge in your production line, or even just a question you’d like to explore, I’d encourage you to start a conversation with us.

Because some of the best solutions begin with a simple idea – and the right partner to develop it.
